The Speaker, Mr Uyigue Igbe, did not give the details of the bills,?but said in Benin City Tuesday, that three bills and six reports were still at different stages of deliberation at the House.
“During the session, two bills were passed by the House, while three bills are at different stages of consideration. “We have also passed 12 resolutions; six reports are pending at different committees. In addition, three motions are pending,’’ he said.
Igbe said the House had so far recorded 50 sittings, adding “as lawmakers we have fulfilled our statutory obligations as contained in the 1999 Constitution.’’
He said the two-week recess which the House began on Tuesday would enable the various Standing Committees to work on pending reports.
During the recess, members will also carry out their oversight functions at the government ministries, departments and agencies, the speaker added.
Igbe lauded what he called the high level of commitment and enthusiasm by lawmakers and staff members in the discharge of their duties.
