Group Canvasses Non-Violence Option In Public Service
Natural Coalition of Niger Delta Graduates for Non-Violence has said that service to humanity is a justification for the space one occupies on the planet earth.
The President of the body, said Comrade Amos Edison Onwuka, at a forum organized by the body in Port Harcourt at the weekend, said that selfless service was necessary to move the society forward.
Comrade Onwuka remarked that no society could do well unless it members made useful contributions and sacrifices to better the lot of their peoples.
The social crusader and environmental rights activities opined that from rustic to complex societies humanity’s basic needs had remained unchanged.
He stated that his organization was primarily saddled with the responsibility of promoting peace, unity, progress and development.
The president also noted that his organization was involved in campaign against social vices bedeviling the society.
Comrade Onwuka urged the youths to embrace education and described it as a tool for human resource development.
In a related issue the National Coalition of Niger Graduates for Non-Violence honoured Chief Humphrey Nyegwushin Wokekoro Woko (JP) with the Organisation’s revered Award of Honour for distinguishing himself in community service. Comrade Amos Edison Onwuka, who made the presentation in Port Harcourt at the weekend noted that Chief Woko (JP) had rendered worthwhile service to the People of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Chief (Hon) Woko (JP) an astute businessman had also served as a councilor in 1988 in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
