Kumuyi Charges Leaders On Godliness
The general superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi has charged Christians to remember the lessons of Christ death. Speaking during the Deeper Life National Easter Retreat held at the states headquarters Rumuodara, Port Harcourt, said that travelling from crucifixion to coronation is a long journey and urge Christians to search the scripture to see how Jesus Christ was captured, crucified, how He conquered and finally how He was crowned.
Christ was captured by those he healed, adding that they mocked, despised and crucified him but after he was buried, he resurrected to show that He has conquered death.
The general superintendent asked “what impact has the efficacious blood of Jesus done in your life? Remember if you continue in your sins, you are asking Christ why He died?
This retreat is the best of its kind because as there were many testimonies of God glory. According to Sister Charity Roberts, after the prayer of the man of God though he was not physically present with us yet we experienced it.
Another participant, Miss Ruth Bobmanuel said “As for me this is the best retreat I’ve ever attended because those in higher institutions in Rivers State all came to Rumuodara for the retreat which had never been done. And we separated from the adult camp to our own.
In a related development, the General Council of Assemblies of God Church Nigeria, 2013 National Easter Retreat ended in Port Harcourt , with a call on Christians to believe that God will do a new thing in their lives this year.
The retreat which attracted worshippers from all walks of life was held at Macdonald Secondary School Field, Igwuruta, Port Harcourt last Sunday.
In his seasons with the theme “the benefit of living a Holy Life,” the Guest Speaker, Rev Emmanuel Kalu said as Christians they should live a holy life to obtain the mercies of God by presenting themselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God.
Rev Kalu admonished Christians to reconcile with God and do what is acceptable to the Creator who died for the sins of mainkind, emphasised that they should be prayerful at all time to seek the divine grace from God. He also reminded Christians that God will deliver their enemies unto them, and reinterated that they be holy as He is holy inorder to find favour at His sight.
