16 Bag OPM Undergraduate Scholarships
About 16 undergraduates of Nigerian universities have been awarded scholarships by the Omega Power Ministries (OPM).
Speaking during the presentation of the awards last Sunday in Port Harcourt, the General Overseer of the ministry, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere said that the programme, which will be made an annual went, will see each of the beneficiaries receiving the sum of N50,000.
Apostle Chinyere said that the programme, which is in two phases is to assist children from homes to complete their university education.
He said that phase one of the programme will cover the entire country, while phase two will be for students of Abia State origin.
The OPM General overseer said that the beneficiaries were made to undergo thorough screening before their selection.
Apostle Chinyere also disclosed plans by the church for the establishment of secondary and primary schools that will be tuition free while a home for the elderly will be built in Port Harcourt.
He noted that the projects are part of the church activities to identify with the less privileged in the society and advised the beneficiaries of the scholarship to put it into proper use.
Also speaking, one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Daniel Emmanuel, an Electrical Engineering student of the University of Port Harcourt, thanked the ministry for considering him worthy for the scholarship.
