NGO Begins Life Changing Project
A Non-Governmental Organisation in Rivers State, O.B. Lulu Briggs Foundation has began a life-changing project that would positively impact on the lives of the less-privileged in the society.
The Executive Director of the NGO, Mrs. Seinye Lulu Briggs, stated this at an annual celebration organised for the Elderly at Biokpo in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state.
According to the Foundation’s Executive Director, part of the life-changing project is to build recreational homes for the Elderly in the state as well as expand water scheme to more local government areas in the state.
Already, two LGAs namely Khana and Akuku-Toru are currently enjoying the water scheme of the Foundation. Mrs. Briggs explained that the decision of the Foundation to provide the homes with access to clean water was to boost the health condition of the inmates.
Mrs. Briggs remarked that apart from building recreational homes, the foundation will take care of the feeding and welfare of the Elderly by providing medical assistance for them on a monthly basis, and supporting the beneficiaries both financially and spiritually.
However, she was hopeful that the number of such support to the Elderly would be increased by 50 per cent this year. She highlighted the achievement of the Foundation in the previous year including the launching of the O.B. Lulu Briggs Campaign for Christ with the divine mandate of wining souls for God.
She also solicited for the support of well-meaning individuals towards improving the life of the Elderly and the needy in the society.
Responding on behalf of the Elderly homes in Etche, Akuku-Toru, Degema, Asari-Toru and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas, an Elderly who would not want his name mentioned, thanked the Foundation for the gesture and prayed for God’s protection and blessing upon O.B. Lulu Briggs family.
