Mgbede Monarch Crowns New Umudeih Chief
The paramount ruler of Mgbede Community, Egbema in Rivers State, HRH Eze Chadwick Ogor, has crowned a staff of Saipem Nigeria Limited, Chief Chioma Onyenze as the Ezeali Umudeih II of Mgbede Egbema.
Performing the coronation ceremony, Eze Ogor said the choice of the new Umudeih ruler was unanimous as there was no single opposition to his nomination.
The monarch explained that Chief Onyenze has been committed to the development of Mgbede Community adding that his contributions to the society is exemplary and worthy of emulation.
Eze Ogor noted that Chief Onyenze demonstrated his love for Mgbede Community during the crisis which rocked the area and charged the new Chief to be steadfast and maintain the cordial relationship between him and others in the community.
Responding, Eze Chioma Onyenze thanked the Umudeih people for finding him worthy and promised an open door policy.
Chief Onyenze charged the youths to shun cultism and other social vices capable of retarding progress and development of the community.
He also urged Nigerian Agip oil Company and other companies operating in the area to execute people-oriented projects in the area.
Also speaking, Eze Luke Ejekwe, the Eze Ollori of Mgbede commended the new Umudeih Chief for his exemplary life and urged him to live above board.
The eight most elderly men representing the eight families in Umudieh witnessed the coronation ceremony.
