Ribadu Slams Nigerian Judiciary Over Ibori
The former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, has berated the Nigerian Judiciary over the handling of the money laundering charge preffered against the former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori.
Charging the Nigerian judiciary to redouble its efforts to fight corruption in the country, Ribadu in a press statement, wondered why the judiciary could not convict Ibori over the matter, while a court in the United Kingdom (UK) believed that Ibori is guilty of the corruption charges brought against him.
He was made to face Justice for stealing our own money. The trial was not because of any other thing, but for stealing our $70,000,000, the money of the people of Nigeria, the money of the people of Delta State”, Ribadu stated.
Further more, the former EFCC boss stated, “ But back home, the same justice that we have here, the judiciary here is saying no to the crime that Ibori has not committed any thing”.
Meanwhile, the Dubai police authorities have said that it will investigate why Ibori’s bail was suddenly revoked.
