FRSC Arrests 8,385 Traffic Offenders In Delta
The Delta State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) arrested 8,385 road traffic offenders between January and April.
Mr Luka Ikpi, the Sector Commander, told newsmen that 8,919 traffic offences were also committed within the period.
He said that in January, 1,707 offenders were arrested, while 1,893 offences were committed.
Ikpi said that February, March and April recorded 1,973, 2,544, 2161 offenders respectively, with 2,180, 243 and 2,603 offences committed.
He said the highest number of offenders and offences were recorded in Asaba area, with 412 offenders and 442 offences in January.
Ikpi said that in February, 418 offenders and 510 offences were recorded, while March had 546 offenders and 675 offences, and April, 398 offenders and 572 offences.
He said other parts of the state where traffic offenders were arrested were Warri, Agbor, Issele-Uku, Ughelli, Sapele and Kwale.
The commander said that there were 1,495 offenders and 1,609 offences in Warri, while Agbor, Issele-Uku and Ughelli recorded 1,059, 990 and 1,088 offenders as well as 873, 1,213 and 1,166 offences respectively during the period.
He said that in Sapele and Kwale, 1,120 offences and 859 offenders were arrested, while 988 and 970 offences were recorded respectively.
