The Tide Editor Bags ICAN Award
Head of the editorial department of The Tide newspapers, Mr Soye Wilson Jamabo, has been awarded Life Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria.
Presenting the award after an investiture at the Algate International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt at the weekend, chairman of the institute’s governing council, Dr Godwin Onyekwere described Mr Jamabo as a brilliant and great professional but an unsung hero of the Nigerian press whose incisive works and intellectual contribution to the society deserve recognition.
In his response, Mr Jamabo who is also the chairman of The Tide Editorial Board thanked the institute for the honour saying he was truly humbled by the award.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has congratulated Mr Jamabo for the award describing it as well-earmed.
In a statement in Port Harcourt yesterday, chairman of the union, Mr Opaka Dokubo described Jamabo as an invaluable asset to the NUJ and urged him to keep the flag flying.
