Aliero Charges Kebbi Lawmakers On Development
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Adamu Aliero has challenged the members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly to initiate policies and programmes that will move the state forward.
Aliero said this while reacting to a report in which the lawmakers gave the FCT minister a 5-day ultimatum to provide his handover note to the House.
Adamu Aliero was before his appointment governor of the state for eight years and later a senator.
Speaking through his special assistant as media and public affairs, Abdullahi Zuru, he said that the former governor is not duty bound by any law of the country to submit handover notes to the state House of Assembly.
The minister noted that the lawmaker have no right constitutionally or otherwise to demand for such information or summon the former governor, in view of the fact that their actions must be guided by the constitution and not based on selfish interest.
“Besides, it is on record that all the commissioners in Aliero’s administration had prepared and presented their hand-over notes to their respective permanent secretaries who subsequently put together the reports and handed over to the governor.
Aliero explained that Governor Saidu Dakingari had appointed transition committee with members drawn from the public and private sectors when he was governor elect.
