Many ‘Born Again’ Christians, Children Of Devil, Adeboye Laments
The General Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has lamented that many born again Christians were now living like children of the devil.
Adeboye spoke at the RCCG’s 69th Annual Convention Tagged, ‘A New Wave of Glory’, last Wednesday evening.
He said the reason many of them are living like children of the devil was because they have ignored sanctification experience.
“Years ago, when I got born again, the elders used to talk about the three works of grace that every Christian must experience: The first, they call Salvation; the second, they call Sanctification and the third, they call the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
“Unfortunately, as time went on, people don’t talk about sanctification again. They talk about salvation, they talk about baptism in the Holy Spirit and they jump sanctification.
“Salvation is the foundation and I will talk a little bit about salvation tonight, because you need the foundation before you can begin to build. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the roof of the house. Sanctification is the wall. It is because sanctification has become ignored that is why you find people who are born again and yet still live as if they are children of the devil,” he said.
In another message, he charged Christians not to be contaminated socially, saying that “watch out to avoid spiritual contamination, keep yourself pure.”
“Why are you associating with people who are not working in the ways of the Lord? Sooner or later, they will move you to their club. If you wander out of the way of understanding, you will end up in the way of the dead that is the Word of God.
“Be pure so that you are not maritally contaminated, that is very important. I pray for those of you who are yet to be married, you will not marry the wrong fellow because if you do, for your hell begins here on earth.
She is beautiful, cute and this, does she fear God? Is she a child of the living God? He is a handsome young man and so on, is he a child of God? Hell begins for you on earth, you won’t have to wait till you die,” Adeboye added.
