Two Bag Professorships, 14 Readers In Rivers Varsity

Two academic staff of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have been promoted to the rank of Professor.
A statement made available to The Tide by the Head, Public Relations Department of the institution, Ngozi Ikiridu, indicated that 14 others were also promoted to the rank of reader (associate professor).
The statement stated that the decision to promote the affected persons was taken at the 11th Governing Council regular meeting of the institution held, recently.
According to the statement, those promoted to the rank of professors are Dr. Amadi Reginald and Dr. Good Wilson, who are now Professor of Educational Technology and Instructional Design (Faculty of Education), and Professor of Development Economics (Faculty of Social Sciences), respectively.
Those promoted to the rank of reader are Dr. Kingsley Gbeke Kalagbo, Reader of Public Finance and Economics in the Faculty of Business Studies; Dr. Reuben Ogidi, Reader of Measurement and Evaluation; Dr. Simeon Mkpae, Reader of Measurement and Evaluation; Dr. Christian Chikwe, Reader of Measurement Evaluation; and Dr. Obada Uriah, Reader of Sociology of Education, all in the Faculty of Education.
In the Faculty of Humanities, the following were promoted, Dr. Bernade Ugochukwu, Reader of Music Pedagogy; Dr. Solomon Ikunga, Reader of African History and Diplomacy; Dr. Chibuzor Nwobueze, Reader of Peace Studies; and Dr. Matthew Okeremeta, Reader of Economic History.
The Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences has three readers: Dr. Marcus Abiye, Reader of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry; Dr. Jack Nwineewi, Reader of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry; and Dr. Edwin Womuru, Reader of Applied Geophysics.
Faculty of Social Sciences had Dr. Hyginus Oku, Reader of Geomorphology, while Dr. John Uka was appointed Reader of Mechanical Technology in the Faculty of Vocational and Technical Education.
The statement further stated that the Registrar of the institution, Mrs. Hope Keani Barido Kue-Ikoro, on behalf of the Governing Council, Vice Chancellor, Prof Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, Senate, staff and students “congratulates the newly promoted academic staff on their spectacular achievements and hopes that the university would benefit from their new academic heights”.
