The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Zone Six, has pledged to partner driving schools to check drivers’ licence racketeering.
The Commander, Zone Six Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Kingsley Agomou who said this during a courtesy call on him in his office by the Driving Schools Association of Nigeria (DSAN), South South Zone said that the commission is committed to professionalism as far drivers’ licences are concerned.
He said that the move was to ensure decency on the road with a view to checking the rate of accidents.
The FRSC Zonal Commander further charged the association to remain committed and united with a view to checking quackery among driving schools.
Similarly, the Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Rivers State, Mr. Edward Zamber has commended members of the association for their sense of unity of purpose.
The sector Commander who addressed them in his office, said, he was happy that the association has been born.
He however urged them to cooperate with the commission to check those who took to driving through the back door.
According to him, issuing certificates to people who do not know how to drive is becoming a big challenge to the agency and stressed the need for them to join in educating drivers on the need to be safety conscious at all times.
