2019: Rivers PDP Begins Sale Of Nomination Forms
The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commenced sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2019 general elections in line with the party’s guidelines for the conduct of the party’s primaries as approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP.
The state Chairman of the PDP, Bro Felix Obuah made the disclosure in a meeting with local government council chairmen of the party in the state, last Wednesday.
The state party chairman enjoined interested members of the party, who wish to stand in for election into any of the political offices in 2019 general elections to avail themselves of the opportunity and collect the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, accordingly.
Obuah also stated that all female aspirants are exempted from payment for the purchase of Nomination Forms for all offices, except national and ad-hoc delegates’ categories.
All forms, according to Obuah, are to be collected at the Aba Road State Secretariat of the party and submitted on or before close of work on September 6, 2018.
Similarly, the PDP in Rivers State has also commenced the registration and issuance of new membership cards to all old and intending members of the party across the 319 electoral wards in the state.
Obuah in the meeting charged local government chairmen of the party to ensure transparency in the distribution of the new membership cards and also make sure that new members of the party are all captured in the exercise.
He called on all Rivers people to take advantage of this opportunity and register with the only party that is committed to their welfare, the PDP.
Obuah also warned against any form of hoarding of the new membership cards by anybody.
