22 Sand Eagles In Camp For International Tourney
Head Coach, Super Sand
Eagles, Adamu Ejor, has said that 22 players have been invited to camp in preparation for the third edition of the Copa Lagos International Beach Soccer.
The competition is slated for December 13 to 15 at the Eko Atlantic Beach in Lagos.
Ejor told newsmen in Lagos that the camp would hold between November 27 and December 10 in Abuja.
According to him, the camp which ought to have commenced in September, will not affect the performance of the Sand Eagles in the competition.
“We were unable to invite players to camp early due to logistic reasons.
“Inviting the players to camp at this time, will not affect the team’s performance,” he said.
The coach noted that the third edition of the competition would be more competitive than the previous editions.
“The competition will be very tough this year. The world champion, Germany, and the Africa champion, Senegal, are participating.
“We will put in our best to ensure that we retain our title, this year,” he added.
Nigeria won the two editions of the competition held since it started in 2011.
The four countries that would participate in the invitational tournament are Lebanon, Germany, Senegal and Nigeria.
