RSG Pledges Commitment To Women Empowerment
The Rivers State Government has reassured of its commitment to the restoration of gander equality in the state.
The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, gave the assurance yesterday at the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex in Port Harcourt , during a gender Advocacy campaign and Road show organized by the Rivers State Ministry of information and communication.
The Hon. Commissioner said the Rivers State Governor, Rt Hon. Rotimi Amaechi is committed to ensuring gender equity and equality, and has demonstrated such commitment by appointing women into various positions of trust and governance.
According to the Hon Commissioner, the Rivers State Government was deeply concerned about the importance of women participation in Governance, and noted that the empowerment of women was akin to the eradication of poverty in the society.
