Nwuke Tasks Women On Steadfastness In Politics
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representative flag bearer for Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency, Hon Ogbonna Nwuke has charged women to be steadfast in their quest for political attainment in the country.
Nwuke gave the charge while addressing PDP women leaders across the 19 wards in Etche Local Government Area at a meeting last Thursday at Okomoko.
He noted that women have been driving force in Political campaign since the enthronent of democracy in the country, pointing out that many Nigerian women have played a significant roles in the country’s political development.
The former commissioner for information and commerce and industry urged them not to be deterred by other political parties going around seeking for their support for the April polls, adding that no political party can perform what PDP has done in the state.
The House of Representative hopeful told the women that the party in the state has done very well for the development of Etche and indeed the generality of the State.
According to him, the present administration in the state, for the last three years had sent 900 students of state origin to study abroad through its oversea scholarship, adding that out of the number, Etche and Omuma Local Government had one 100 students.
He said the ESI programme of the wife of State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi was designed to enthron of free nursery and primary schools in the state adding that the state government’s decision to build new model primary, secondary schools and health institutions across the 23 local government in the state is an indication of government commitment in improving the standard of living of its citizens.
The PDP leader in Etche however thanked the women for their support to Governor Amaechi and the party in the area and urged them to vote for the governor and the party’s candidates during the election salite assuring the women of effective representation.
