Rivers State Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, yesterday marked Easter with a powerful worship service at the Chapel of Everlasting Grace, Government House, Port Harcourt—celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and its promise of hope, renewal, and victory for the people of Rivers State.
Accompanied by his wife, Dr. Theresa Ibas, their children, and key state officials including the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, and his family, the Administrator joined worshippers in a vibrant service filled with uplifting hymns and prayers for peace in Rivers State and Nigeria.
Chaplain Pastor Barasin Ogan delivered a stirring message, reminding the congregation of the transformative power of Christ’s resurrection—assuring them of divine justification, deliverance, healing, and righteousness through faith.
Special prayers were offered for President Bola Tinubu, Administrator Ibas, and the continued progress of Rivers State, reinforcing unity and faith as the foundation for a brighter future.
Meanwhile, the Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas (Rtd), has called on Christians to extend kindness and compassion to the less-privileged in the true spirit of Easter.
In his Easter message made available to newsmen on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Ibas emphasized the significance of peace, unity, and compassion within families, communities, and across the entire state.
He urged the public to embrace the Easter season as an opportunity to work together for the progress, security, and harmony of Rivers State.
“As we gather with family and friends to celebrate, let us remember the less privileged among us and extend a hand of kindness. May the spirit of Easter inspire us to work together for the progress, security, and harmony of Rivers State,” he said.
According to him, “Let this season of resurrection renew our commitment to unity and compassion, especially for those in need.”
Ibas extended warm wishes to all Christians for a blessed and joyful Easter celebration, offering prayers for hope, prosperity, and enduring peace across the state.
He said; “As we approach the joyous celebration of Easter, I extend my warmest greetings to all Christians across our beloved state. This sacred season reminds us of the triumph of hope, love, and redemption—the very essence of Christ’s resurrection.
“Easter is a time for deep reflection on the sacrifices of our Lord Jesus Christ and a renewal of our faith in God’s boundless grace. It is also an opportunity to embrace the virtues of peace, unity, and compassion in our homes, communities, and the entire state.”
He added, “On behalf alf of the Rivers State Government, I wish you all a blessed and joyful Easter celebration. May the risen Lord fill your hearts with hope, your lives with prosperity, and our state with enduring peace.”
