MOSIEND Hails Sim Over Victory
Following his landslide victory at the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State, the National and Zonal Leadership of Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has hailed Sir Siminialayi Fubara as Governor-elect of Rivers State.
Fubara emerged winner of the 2023 governorship election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was contained in a statement by the National Director of Mobilisation, MOSIEND, Alhaji Gbarasitamunopiri Abubakar Amaigo Brown, made available to TheTide Newspaper in Port Harcourt.
Alhaji Brown said, “Sir Fubara’s victory at the poll epitomises the ijaw spirit and fulfils the agitation of over 20yrs seeking for balance, equity in power sharing between the riverine and upland of the state.
“We believe in a new Rivers State that is possible under Siminialayi Fubara as we wish him God’s grace and guidance on the task ahead”.
Brown urged the Governor-elect to continue with the developmental agenda of his predecessor, Governor Nyesom Wike, to make the state a “paradise on earth”.
While congratulating the Governor-Elect, the National Director urged him to improve on human capital development across the state and empower teeming Rivers youths through employment.
The group appealed to the in-coming Governor to tackle acts of insecurity in some Rivers communities in order to improve the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
Brown thanked Governor Wike, youths, ethnic groups, and stakeholders comprising PDP Chairman, Rivers state, Amb. Desmond Akawor; Director General, PDP Campaign Council, Sir Felix Obua, and the Chairmen of the 23 Local Government Areas of the state for supporting and projecting the Governor Elect for Rivers State to victory.
