Key Into Science, Technology, Minister Urges Nigerians
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), Dr Adeleke Mamora, has called on Nigerians to key into Science and Technology in order to move the country forward.
Mamora said this when he featured on a special interview session organised by The Tide’s source
He said the STI has some components that were inevitable to the people and nation as a whole in order to grow and develop across board.
“We must key into STI for us to move forward, grow and develop across all the sectors of our economy and social life.
“STI has components that are inevitable to our being as a people and as a nation. I don’t know which area you want to talk about without mentioning STI, because these are the things that make the system work better, including increasing revenue”, he said.
On the achievements of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), Mamora said it had developed some building materials for both building and roads construction.
“They have been able to develop some kind of technology that is compliant with the environment. These days we are talking about the green environment, where you will have reduction in carbon emissions.
“We need the road building materials that will make the road to last longer”, he said.
Mamora noted that NBRRI has three critical issues in terms of road construction and building, which are cost effective, environmental-friendly and long-lasting.
“They have prototype buildings they have put in place for people to see, and, of course, these things are cost effective, environmental-friendly and long lasting.
“So, these are three critical issues NABRI is bringing up in terms of road construction and building”, he said.
The Minister further said NABRI has been able to develop some building materials for both building, and road construction.
