RSG Closes Ikwerre Road To Traffic, Friday
The Rivers State Government has announced the closure of a section of the popular Ikwerre Road in the state capital.
A statement signed by the state Commissioner for Works, Dr Dax Alabo George-Kelly, yesterday, in Port Harcourt, said the closure of traffic on the ever-busy road would enable the commencement of construction work on the 11th flyover project.
The statement read, “Rivers State Ministry of Works wishes to inform the general public that parts of Ikwerre Road by Rumuola Junction will be closed to traffic from Friday, the 23rd of September, 2022, to enable the contractor commence construction works on Flyover 11 at Rumuokwuta/Rumuola Junction.
“The ministry, therefore, appeals to road users to kindly follow the traffic diversions listed below: From Rumuola Road, divert through Psychiatric Hospital Road to Rumuigbo Junction.
“U-turn at Rumuola Road by Ebony Junction.
“From Rumuokoro axis, divert through Psychiatric Hospital Road and Obi Wali Road, respectively.
“From Wimpy Junction, divert through Wike Road or Oroazi and Ebony Roads, respectively.
“U-turn at Kala back to Wimpy.
“We regret the inconvenience this will cause road users”, the statement indicated.
