Ariolu Charges EDA On Improved Welfare, Dev Of Evo
Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Barrister George Ariolu, has urged the Evo Development Association (EDA) to implement programmes and policies that would improve welfare of Evo people as well as contribute to the development of the area.
He tasked the group to take advantage of Nigeria’s rich endowment and his administration’s human capital development programmes to enlighten and integrate a positive change amongst the people.
Ariolu gave this charge when he received the executive of Evo Development Association led by Comrade Henso Chituru, yesterday, at the council headquarters, Rumuodomaya.
He said government and governance was all about the people, maintaining that human capital development remains his administration’s focal thrust.
Ariolu, who was an active member of the group, said his motivation and desires was to see the name of Evo boldly written on the sands of time.
He added that it can only be achieved by contributing his own quota to see to what extent to which he can add value to the lives of the people.
The chairman, frowning at the activities of the EDA in recent past, noted that the group’s failure to undertake in any developmental projects, stressing that he remains an advocate for human capacity development.
According to Ariolu, he expects EDA as a developmental group to be purposeful in its activities and functions.
He further encouraged the group to redirect its focus and align itself with projects that were in line with his administration’s focal thrust in order to add value to the lives of the people.
However, he has advised the group to enlighten, sensitise and ignite the people of Evo Kingdom to participate in programmes that will yield economic benefit to their families and societies.
In his remarks, President of the group, Comrade Henso Chituru, commended Ariolu for his outstanding achievements in his first year in office.
According to him, the purpose of the visit was to seek collaboration with the council in promoting and facilitating development in Evo Kingdom.
He appreciated Ariolu for showcasing his wealth of experience in the area of human capacity and infrastructural development which has benefitted the people immensely.
Chituru added that the numerous projects and recent face-lift of the council was a clear indication to further show proof of Ariolu’s purposeful leadership in the area.
Meanwhile, he has assured the chairman of the group’s plans and desires towards remodelling its programmes and policies to ensure more promising future for the people of Evo Kingdom.
