Shun Negative Tendencies, Group Urges Youths
A group known as Asha Committee of Friends of Ndashi in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State has called on the youths of the community to shun any act that will misrepresnt the image of the community.
President of the group, Mr Lawrence Onyenma, made the call at the weekend in Ndashi Community Hall after the monthly general meeting of the body.
According to him, only peaceful cohesion can attract development to the community, calling on the youths to see education as a way to move forward and also contribute to the development of the community.
He warned them to shun temptations to practice societal vices such as kidnapping, cultistism, ritual killing, and engaging in “Yahoo business”.
The President called on the various stakeholders in the community comprising chiefs, elders, youth leaders and Community Development Committee to collaborate with the association to report any crime in the area to government.
This, he said, “is one key way to forstall any break down of peace in the community”.
