‘Why I Want To Represent Opobo/Nkoro In Rivers Assembly’
A legal practioner and politician, Amaopusenibo Gordon Bryston Pepple, has indicated intention to run for the Rivers State House of Assembly seat of Opobo/Nkoro State Constituency in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking with journalists recently in Port Harcourt, Amaopusenibo Pepple, one of the aspirants on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), identified one of the many problems faced by Opobo/Nkoro people.
“My people need proper and sustainable empowerment. I mean a kind of empowerment that would make them self-reliant.
“I will heal their wounds and drag the people of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government together as one big family when I am elected as Opobo/Nkoro Assembly member”, he said.
He hinted that his quest to run for the position was because of the encouragement he has received across the LGA, which, he said, galvanised his passion to offer meaningful representation to the people.
“I have widely consulted, and also been widely accepted,” he said.
Pepple, a staunch supporter of good governance via equal representation, said he intends to start his people -oriented projects by first completing what the incumbent Assembly representative, Senibo Adonye Diri has not completed.
The LP Assembly hopeful promised to unite Opobo/Nkoro people in order to bring prosperity to the LGA.
“I am coming to heal the wounds, I am coming to put away division. I am contesting to emphasize on those things that divide and expose us to perpetual doom,” he said.
He stated further that Opobo/Nkoro LGA needs a peace-oriented representation, one that would live up to the yearnings of the people, adding that he is the right candidate for the legislative job in Opobo/Nkoro.
“I have deeply studied enough, and watched government at close quarters. I have gathered enough experience and will not need much time to learn the ropes.
“It is only when you have crawled, then walked, that you can run smoothly. So, I know the right ideas to apply and the right buttons to press to attract the needed development and progress to Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area”, he said.
He appealed for support and prayers from the people to enable him to succeed in the 2023 general polls.
