Group Holds Seminar On UN Career Dev
The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) says it has concluded arrangements to organise a one-day “Executive Summit on United Nations Career Development”.
Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt, spokesman of the IAWPA, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, disclosed that the event “is basically aimed at empowering stakeholders, particularly youth organisations in the State on topical issues on United Nations (UN) system.
He further intimated that lectures will be presented by some UN scholars who are known to be experts in UN Bulletins, sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate change, and UN conference management.
“Besides, we are also looking forward that the seminar would afford most Rivers people who will attend, the opportunity to become abreast with the working of the UN system and international community”, he added.
Also speaking, one of the guest speakers for the event Amb. Nkpe John Moses,” noted that it was not in doubt that the seminar is coming at the right time Rivers State youths are yearning for an opportunity that will engage them internationally.
“There is no gain saying the fact that IAWPA is at its best in providing an international platform, using the UN in creating partnership to the benefit of Rivers people” he said.
Meanwhile, the organisers of the event are calling on all and sundry to avail themselves of the opportunity to attend the event as admission would be free.
The event, billed for tomorrow at the Nigeria Union of Joirnalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, will be chaired by Archbishop Chidi Ehiriodo.
