Diocese Shops For N500m To Build Secretariat
The Diocese of Okrika, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) is shopping for N500 million to build a befitting secretariat.
Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Enoch Atuboyedia, said this during a visit to the palace of the Chief of Abam Ama Community as part of activities for the first session of the 7th Synod of the Diocese hosted by The Abam Ama Deanery at St Luke’s Church.
He said the Diocese needs a secretariat that befits its status as one of the leading Dioceses in the country.
Describing the Diocese as a unifying factor in Okrika Kingdom, he commended the Abam Ama Deanery for choosing to host the synod against the background that it is one of the youngest in the diocese.
Chief of Abam, Chief Henry Semenitari Abam, said the community is overwhelmed with joy, saying that the presence of the Bishop had added to the spiritual dimension of the community.
He said St Luke’s Church was a source of unity for all Christians in the community.
Meanwhile, Chairman, Central Synod Planning Committee, Sir Ibifubara D. Malik, said the synod met the standard required.
He told newsmen that the committee ensured the availability of all necessities that were required by the delegates.
