KNC Alumni Get New Executive
The Class 82 Old Students Association of the Kalabari National College (KNC), Buguma has elected a new executive body to pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years.
The election which took place in Port Harcourt, yesterday, saw the emergence of Barrister Tubobanimi Wokoma as the leader; Prof Prekunoma-a Jenewari, secretary; Chief Afifama-a Abbiyesuku, financial secretary; and Mr. Samuel Boms, provost/welfare officer.
In his acceptance speech, the Leader, Barrister Tubobanimi Wokoma thanked the class members for showing commitment to the progress of the KNC and the welfare of members.
He recalled the efforts made by members who had risen to the top in different fields of human endeaur, and encouraged members to continue in their spirit of love for their alma mater and one another.
Wokoma assured the members of the determination of the new executive to foster closer relationship among members and to promote the development of the KNC, Buguma.
Expressing appreciation over the conduct of members during the election, Chairman of the Election Committee, Mr. Leslie Wokoma, urged members to give support to the newly elected executive to achieve set goals of impacting positively on the school and members.
The host of the meeting, Mr. Lucky Brown, urged the newly elected leadership to focus on activities that would change the narrative and set an agenda for upcoming old students of the institution.
He recalled that members achieved various level of repute in society through hardwork, and urged members to inculcate same into the upcoming generation.
Also speaking, Sir Chijioke Boms thanked members for their positive contributions and comradeship, and urged them to continue in the same spirit.
