Cleric Urges Nigerians To Trust God …Task Leaders On Justice
The Parish Priest in- charge of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Port Harcourt, of the Port Harcourt Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. Francis Normakoh, has charged Nigerians not to lose hope but to trust and look up to God at all times despite the socio-economic challenges.
Normakoh gave this charge recently in Port Harcourt as part of his Easter message to Nigerians.
According to him, in recent times, there are things that have happened that naturally ought not to have happened in life or in the history of this nation. I know all these are happening because of the weak institutions or system in the country. In spite of the problems facing the nation, I want to urge Nigerians not to lose hope but to trust in God.
Normakoh who spoke through Fr. Kiele Burabari of St. Gerald Uegwere Boue Parish stated that Nigerains should be hopeful ahead of the 2023 general elections.
“As we celebrate the 2022 Easter, we must reflect on the reason for the season. We must be open in order to imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ as well as attain to what needs to be attained. When there is despair, there should be hope. Therefore, we must bring Jesus Christ into our lives. In fact, this will also help us to have a focused intention towards choosing the best leaders during 2023 general elections”.
Normakoh reiterated the need for the political class to formulate policies that ensure that Nigeria’s population is channeled into productivity, stressing the need for those in positions of authority to continue to deliver on their mandate.
He urged Nigerian leaders not to just promote the principle of federal character but also to ensure that there is equity and justice across the country rather than dividing the country along ethnic and religious lines.
