RSNC GM Tasks Staff On Improved Attitude To Work …As Corporation Thanks God
The General Manager of Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC), Chief Enerst Chinwo, has expressed displeasure over the lackadaisical attitude of some members of staff of the corporation who come to work late and leave before official closing time.
At the annual thanksgiving service with the theme “ God our Ebenezer “, organized in the corporation Thursday, Chinwo said “ a situation where paid staff come to work late and close early, leaving duties to be done by the support hands, who live on mere stipend, will no longer be tolerated, enough of such lackadaisical attitude “.
According to him, the task of taking Rivers State Newspaper Corporation (RSNC) to its expected destination should be everybody’s concern, describing every staff as the greatest asset the corporation needs to function better. He enjoined all to feature optimally in any position they occupy as that remains the only legacy they owe posterity. Chief Chinwo also called for intelligent suggestions from members of staff to move the corporation forward.
Referring to the theme of the service, ‘God Our Ebenezar’, the general manager said it is apt, as we solely depend on God in carrying out our work in the corporation, adding that most of our working tools are absolutely obsolete yet God serves our needs through them.
He said the entire essence of the thanksgiving service was to appreciate God for his sustenance and support over our life, health and work, as well as seek his direction as we weather the storm of this year.
On his own part, the preacher of the gospel, Pastor Festus Awajiokwan, who took his sermon from, 1Sam 4:1-end, and 1Sam 2:22 said the choice of the topic; ‘God Our Ebenezer’, was an expression of gratitude to the God who has led the corporation thus far. He explained that while prayer remains key in the life of every believer, facing challenges in life, the place of thanksgiving at the long last, cannot be over emphasised.
Pastor Festus enjoined the congregation to eschew everything that could cause the glory of God to depart from the corporation, but embrace a godly and disciplined attitude to work so the glory of God could be restored for God’s people to smile again.
Highlights of the thanksgiving service included; sermon, praises, song rendition by The Tide’s choir, intercessory prayers for the state government The Tide’s management and rededication of the corporation’s staff, machines and products.
