Jumbo Emerges Hostcom National Chairman
Host of Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (Hostcom) has endorsed the election of Professor Jasper Jumbo as its national chairman.
This was part of the decision reached at the just concluded 2022 fact- finding annual conference of Hostcom in Port Harcourt.
The conference affirmed the emergence of Dr.christie Atako as woman leader of the body. Other resolutions include the dissolution of all adhoc and interim committees set up by its former chairman, Prince Mike Emuh , describing them as non-governmental, unmandated, illegal and deceitful.
The forum further affirmed the removal of Prince Mike Emuh and members of his executive council.
The conference was attended by representatives of the body from across oil and gas producing states.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen, chief professor Jasper Jumbo thanked the conference for its decision adding that every state will be carried along in the scheme of things.
Jumbo pointed out that Rivers and Akwa Ibom States where not included in the board of trustees in the Mike Emuh led executive
He added that the conference was just calling for fairness and equity for all concerned.
The elder statesman further said the conference has provided stakeholders the opportunity to reason together and advance their course.
“This year conference is hinged on the belief that it is better to reason together, advance our respective views for informed harmonization and with one accord peacefully engaged those in position of authority to help our suffering people” he said
Also speaking, the commissioner for lands Anambra State , Bonaventure Enemail, congratulated professor Jasper Jumbo for the election, stating that with the election, the voices of oil and gas producing communities will be heard.
