Community Residents Reaffirm Confidence In DPO
Some residents of Aluu communityin Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, have reaffirmed their confidence in the recently posted Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Joseph Ohiwere.
The residents spoke on the sidelines of a rescued cleric just some hours after his kidnap yesterday, describing the feat as uncommon among DPOs who had served in the area
“ If other officers will work like this man, crime will be curtailed drastically.
“The immediate release of the clergyman shortly after he was taken away shows the proactivenes of the DPO,” an eye witness said.
He led his men to the bush aside the rains with the support of the local vigilante before we know it the kidnapped victim was released.
We have never seen this kind of DPO,” they said.
They said since his arrival, the issues of burglary, theft, rape and kidnapping have reduced.
They noted that night business had returned normally in Aluu.
“We are really impressed by conduct and professionalism he has brought to bear in carrying out his duty.

In a related development, a member of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, and Paramount Ruler of Atta Ancient Kingdom, Eze Geoffrey Anika has called for increased security across Nigeria.
Speaking with The Tide recently in Atta, Ikeduru Local Government Area of the State, Eze Anika said that there has been incidences of kidnapping and killings across the land, even as most security personnel have declined to duty owing to the lack of trust from Nigerians.
He called on government at all levels to address the situation and overhaul the security architecture of the country, especially South East and South South regions.
Charting the way forward for the growth of the nation, Eze Anika admonished Nigerians with grievances to sheath their swords and support the government to build better bridges of rapid development in all the nooks and crannies of the country, where peace, unity of purpose and enduring progress will thrive.
