Group To Partner RSG On Fight Against Crime
Rivers State Hunters Group of Nigeria (HGN), says it is ready and prepared to partner with the State Government in the fight against crime
The group also said it was pleased with the effort of the state Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, in nipping in the bud the security challenge in the state
The Regional Commander, Chief Willy Wegwu, said in an interview in Aluu at the weekend that the group was fully ready to partner with the state government in its drive to sanitise the state against crime.
Chief Wegwu said hunters who often lived in the bush had all it took to chase criminals and kidnappers out of the bush and hand them over to the security operatives if only the state governor in his magnanimity would grant them audience
Chief Wegwu said the group was made up of over five hundred young Rivers youths who were keen at joining forces with the governor to save the state.
As a group familiar with the terrain,we will stop at nothing to assist the governor in taking the war to their hideout, he said
He said hunters in the state had always defended the interest of the state
In his part, Ikwerre Local Commander, Charles Nwobodo, hinted that the group having been recognised by the government, has always worked for the betterment of the society
Nwobodo said the group had always stood against crime and was ready to lay down their lives for others to leave.
He said security was everyone’s business, hence the need for all hands to be on deck.
