RSG Unveils New TUC Secretariat, Today
The Rivers State Government has concluded plans to unveil the ultra-modern secretariat of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) as part of its policy of creating labour-friendly environment in the state.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, yesterday, said the inauguration of the edifice would consolidate the cordial relationship between organised labour and the state government.
The statement reads, “Members of the Rivers State Chapter of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) will, from tomorrow, March 12, 2021 be proud beneficiaries of a modern secretariat complex.
“The new Three-Storey TUC Building has a 500-seater auditorium, conference room and fully furnished offices.
“The complex built by Governor Nyesom Wike underscores the cordial relationship between the State Government and Labour.
“The President, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Quadri A Olaleye, is expected to serve as Special Guest of Honour.
“Invited guests are enjoined to adhere to all COVID-19 protocols.
“It would be recalled that two years ago, the State Government also built and handed over a fully furnished secretariat complex to the state Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC”, the statement added.
