Police Campaign Against Social Vices In Schools
The Inspector General of Police Campaign Against Cultism led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Yusuf Idi in the State has taken their campaign and sensitisation on the dangers of cultism to secondary and primary schools in the state.
At Community Secondary School, Rumurolu Community within Woji area, the team sensitised the school children on the dangers associated with not just cultism but rape, defilement, fraud and drug addictiction and abuse.
DSP Idi who addressed the gathering through the State Chairman, Police Campaign Against Cultism Port Harcourt Volunteer Club, Ambassador Eke Owuka said they were in the secondary school to catch them young against joining cultism.
Ambassador Owuka said investigation revealed that primary and secondary schools children are most vulnerable to cult activities.
On his part, the paramount ruler of Rumurolu community, G.N. Chukumgba commended the organisers of the programme and said the sensitisation would not only save the young people but parents and state at large.
The spokesman of Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni who was represented by his second in command spoke to the school children on the commitment of the security agencies to assist anyone come out of cult gang and discipline those who would not want to change.
