Police Uncover Illegal Gun Manufacturing Site In Delta

Police in Delta State have discovered a gun manufacturing site in Patani forest, Patani Local Government Area of the state.
Briefing newsmen in Asaba, the Police Commissioner, Delta State Command, Mr Hafiz Inuwa, said that all instruments used in the illegal manufacturing of arms were recovered at the site.
Four suspects were paraded in connection with the gun manufacturing site along with many others arrested over various criminal activities.
CP Inuwa said,’’ Following the confession of two notorious robbery and kidnap suspects, Omoefe Fortune ‘m’ 22years of Odufura community and Emmanuel Eferobo ‘m’ 26 years of Ibesiga community in Patani who have been terrorizing Ughelli/Patani road, arrested on 09/01/2020 and 04/02/2020 respectively by Operatives of the Command’s Eagle-Net Squad’’
He hinted that further investigation led to the arrest of a gun manufacturer, one Ezekiel Idoghor and his accomplice son, one Prosper Idoghor both of Ibesiga community in Patani Local Government Area, and the discovery of their gun manufacturing site in Patani forest.
According to the Delta CP, ‘’Concerted efforts of the investigative team led to the discovery of a total number of five single barrel guns and one locally made pistol produced by the suspects with two cartridges concealed and hidden in the bushes of Ibesa community in Patani.”
He gave an assurance that further investigation would be carried out to fish out other culprits in the crime.
The 65-year prime suspect, Ezekiel Idoghor, confessed to the crime, saying he was arrested for manufacturing guns for men of Vigilantes without authorization or permission by government.
Other suspects paraded included 41 kidnappers, 16 cultists, four murderers, eight internet fraudsters and five thieves.
