Barako, Nwebiara Boundary Dispute Technical Committee Submits Report
The Technical Committee on the Barako/Nwebiara Boundary Dispute has submitted its report to the Rivers State Boundary Commission.
Speaking during a meeting of the State Boundary Commission at the Government House in Port Harcourt, yesterday, the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo said Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike was very passionate about peace because he believes that without peace, there would be no progress, and it would be impossible to attain our God-given destiny as a state.
According to Banigo, the governor’s decision to launch the new security architecture, ‘Operation Sting’ was borne out of his aspiration to foster peace in all nook and crannies of the state, stressing that members of the boundary commission must see themselves as partners with the governor in the quest to enshrine peace in Rivers State.
The deputy governor, who expressed gratitude to members for painstakingly putting the report on the Barako/Nwebiara Boundary Dispute together, assured them that the observations made would be attended to and sent to the State Chief Executive for his consideration, and necessary action.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Kind Dandeson Douglas-Jaja had on behalf of the members of the boundary commission, felicitated with the governor and his deputy on their victory at polls.
