PDP Chieftain Carpets APC Over Non-Performance
A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Rt Hon. Essien Ekpenyong Ayi has said that one does not need a soothsayer to know that all was not well in the All Progressives Congress.
Rt. Hon. Ayi, who is a member representing Akpabuyo, Bakassi and Calabar South federal constituency in the House of Representatives lamented what Nigerians passed through at the hands of the APC government.
Speaking with newsmen in Calabar, Hon Ayi said, “Well, you do not need a soothsayer to tell you that all is not well with the APC in Nigeria.
Hon Ayi explained that when APC was coming with campaign of change, they made a lot of promises, which included the reduction of pump price of fuel to N45 per litre. He said they have instead increased pump price from N87 to N145. He said Dollars was now N360 to a Dollar.
“The way people are suffering, I don’t think any right thinking pperson will like to continue to suffer”.
“We have come here on the occasion of your festival to felicitate with you; I want to commend the Hausa community for living peacefully with us without any problem whatsoever.
“All those things we heard in Benue, Taraba, the issues of herdsmen and the rest, they are not in Cross River State and it will never be.
“I want to thank you for the support you have been giving to Governor Ben Ayade and government of the state and I urge you to support him for his re-election come 2019, because any society without peace can never be alright.
“He has been able to maintain peace, sustain the state, pay salary regularly irrespective of our meagre resources and I see him as somebody who is not greedy and who has the state at heart,” he said.
