RIMA Boss Declares For Degema LG Chairmanship Seat
The Managing Director of the Rivers State Micro-finance Agency, (RIMA), Dr. Ipalibo Sogules has declared his intention to contest for the Chairmanship position of Degema Local Government Area, in the forthcoming local government elections in the State.
Sogules declared his intention to contest the local government polls on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during a meeting with stakeholders of the party in Port Harcourt recently.
The RIMA Managing Director said he was offering himself to serve the people of Degema Local Government in the capacity as Local Government Chairman with a vision to transform the LGA into a path of “unfettered development”.
He said youth empowerment and job creation would be top priorities of his administration if given the opportunity to serve the people as Local Government Chairman.
Speaking at the event, a stalwart of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Rivers State, Hon. Emily Solomon, urged stakeholders of the party in Degema to support the candidacy of Dr. Ipalibo Sogules, and described him as a “presentable and articulate candidate” that will bring the LGA to greater heights.
In his remarks, a former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Degema LGA, Hon. Ombo Benibo commended Dr. Ipalibo Sogules for his declaration and assured transparency on the part of PDP in the selection of candidate for the LG Polls.
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Degema LGA, Hon. Tonye Tiger, who spoke with The Tide in an interview said the PDP in Degema was committed to internal democracy and transparency in the selection of candidate for the June Local Government elections in the state.
