Rivers @ 50: Monarch Felicitates With Wike
The Traditional Ruler of Egi clan, HRM King (Prof.) Anele Uzondu Nwokoma has said that the just-concluded 50 years anniversary of the creation of Rivers State without hitch has opened the door for investors who wished to invest in the state.
“This is because contrary to the expectation of detractors who had envisaged problem in terms of security, all the activities planned for the event witnessed no ugly incident.”
Prof. Nwokoma who was speaking to journalists in his palace at Erema in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, said the successful conclusion of the events clearly showed that Rivers people were united despite their differences in tribe and tongue.
He congratulated the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike for the magnitude of projects he had been able to execute within the two years of his administration, saying that before the end of his first tenure, the state would have benefitted from his wealth of experience in governance such that Rivers people will naturally want him for another term.
The traditional ruler used the opportunity to call on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to increase its level of activities in the area, saying with the present pegging of registration of voters at 30 people par day, it will be difficult to cover all the wards in the local government area.
