The Federal Road Safety
Corps (FRSC) says the enforcement of Speed Limit device will commence soon in Rivers State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) also unfolded its plan against illegal trading along the roads on Port Harcourt and its environs.
The Sector Commander in Rivers State, Mr Ayodele Kumapayi disclosed this when the officials of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) African Global Development for Drastic Changes (AGDDC) paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Port Harcourt.
He said that in the next weeks a team of the FRSC would be placed on strategic areas to ensure compliance with speed limit device in the state.
The Corps Commander called on the motorists especially the commercial vehicle operators to strictly adhere to the earlier directive by FRSC in the country to avoid prosecution.
On illegal trading along the roads in Port Harcourt Kumapayi said the Corps would be partnering with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) like African Global Development for Drastic Charge (AGDDC) to carry out awareness campaign to check the ugly situation.
He stressed that trading along the roads had continued to endanger the lives of people, adding the Rivers State Government was not happy about it.
Earlier, the Cordinator of AGDDC, Mr Dan Mbachi commended the Corps Commander, for his commitment to the safety of road users in the state and assured him of the support of his organisation.
