Edo CJ Frees Four Inmates
Hhe Chief Judge of Edo
State, Justice Cromwell Idahosa, has ordered the release of four prison inmates.
Idahosa gave the directive during visits to prison in Ubiaja in Esan South-East Local Government of the state.
They are 52-year old trado-medical practitioner, Christopher Eborimen and one Maria Oboze, who is
mentally challenged.
The others freed from Auchi prison were Paul Lawani and Osumah Yusuf.
ldahosa had freed six inmates at Benin Central Prison and eight at Oko prison during his visits there.
In another developent, an Oredo Magistrates’ Court, Benin City, has sentenced one Loveth Enginna, 27, to one year jail term for stealing N263, 200.
The Magistrate, Mrs J.O. Ejale, however, gave Enginna , N50, 000 option of fine.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Thomas Ojo had told the court that the accused committed the offence
between May 2013 and August 2013 at No.6 Adesuwa Grammar School Road, Benin.
Ojo said that the convict stole the N263, 200, property of Trust Fund Micro Finance Bank.
He said the offence contravened Section 390 (9) ofthe Criminal Code, Cap. 48 Vol. 11 Laws of
the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976 as applicable in Edo.
The convict admitted committing the offence.
