Govt To Restore Potable Water In Maiduguri
The Borno State Com
missioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Mai Sherif, has said that the government was committed to the provision of potable water in the metropolis.
Sherrif said this in an interview with newsmen during an inspection of damaged water pipes at Abbaganaram area of Maidugruri.
The commissioner who described water as one of the indispensable and basic necessities of life, pledged the ministry’s commitment to provide steady water supply to the people.
He also advised the people to desist from indiscriminate refuse dumping to avert water-borne diseases, noting that the water pipes were broken during refuse evacuation by the relevant agencies.
He appealed to residents to be patient as government was working round the clock to restore water supply in areas where their pipes were damaged.
