Commissioner Harps On Love In Marriage
The Rivers State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Gogo Levi Charles, has tasked married men and women in the state to imbibe the virtue of love.
Mr. Charles who said this during the marriage ceremony of Mr. Mgbo-Owaji Augustus at the police officers’ mess, Port Harcourt also urged them to put God in all of their endeavours.
The commissioner who was the chairman of the occasion said that the success of every marriage depends on several factors which include tolerance, love and above all, the fear of God.
Represented by Mr G.O. Ikpe, a Director in the ministry, however, commended Mr and Mrs. Mgbo-Owaji Augustus for their understanding and stressed the need for them to be tolerant of each other.
In his message, the presiding Bishop of Voice of Grace International Church, Amadi-Ama, Pastor James Idode cautioned the couple against negative tendencies that are capable of eroding the existing love between them.
The clergyman who quoted several Bible passages to buttress his point, said that it beholves the couple to be submissive to each other, stressing that having exchanged their marital vows, it is God’s wish for them to respect it.
In his message, the National President of Rivers State Youth Federation, Comrade Adokiye Mujiton also urged the couple to keep to their marital vows as that would create a good impression of them in the eyes of the public.
Also speaking, the Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Andoni Chapter, Comrade Eneotu Tobiah Job described Mgbo-Owaji Augustus as a patriotic citizen of his community and advised seekers of partners to always wait on God.
Mr. Mgbo-Owaji Augustus in a vote of thanks thanked all for identifying with them and prayed God to grant them journey mercies to their respective homes.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life.
