Perm Sec Eulogises Late Rose Evans
The permanent Secretary incharge of the Special Services Bureau of the Office of Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Mr Sovens Okari, has condoled with the lawmaker representing Ogu/Bolo Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Evans Bipi, on the death of his mother, Madam Rose Bapakaye Evans.
Mr Okari, who paid a condolence visit at his Assembly quarters in Port Harcourt, described death as inevitable and a mystery that would not only happen to every mortal being, but was also beyond human comprehension and control.
He expressed heart-felt sympathy and grief at the timing of the death of Madam Evans, describing the deceased as a loving and generous mother whose jokes and care would be fondly remembered.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the bereaved family to look onto God for answers and hope and not to man, saying “God has all capacity to give succour, comfort and strength to those who mourn.
Mr Okari, however, observed that the life and times, as well as contributions of late Madam Evans in the development of her people, were enduring achievements that would continue to glorify God.
Responding, the lawmaker representing Ogu/Bolo constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Evans Bipi, thanked the permanent secretary for the visit.
Hon Bipi described his late mother as an active woman, during her life time, whose sudden demise came as a great shock to the entire family, relations and friends, believing that though she had gone, her legacies were worthy of celebrating her life.
