Semenitari Advises Information Officers Not To Limit Themselves
The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, has advised information officers in the state not to limit themselves to reporting government programmes.
“Journalists should not only limit themselves to writing government programmes and events, but should also inform government on the feelings of the people about its programmes and policies,” the statement said.
The statement said the ministry was training journalists attached to it to prepare them for modern challenges in the profession.
It said the training was also aimed at equipping the journalists with requisite knowledge to boost their ability to report human-related stories.
The statement said Semenitari called on participants to always re-examine their facts before writing their reports.
