CRSG Warns Contractors On Projects Deadline
The Cross River government on Tuesday gave contractors handling its projects in the Northern Senatorial District of the state, one week to complete their jobs or risk being blacklisted.
The government also said that contractors whose jobs fell below the state government’s standard would have their contracts terminated.
The Deputy Governor, Mr. Effiok Cobham gave the order recently while inspecting Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) projects, in the senatorial district.
According to him, the state government can no longer afford to pay for shoody jobs executed by contractors.
Cobham expressed displeasure at the attitude of some contractors who, after they had been paid a substantial amount of money, abandoned their site while others performed below specifications.
He also inaugurated health centres including in Utuhu, Obanliku and Beten, Ugboro-Ijibo and Ochagbe in Betwarra local government area.
He advised the benefiting communities to key into the projects and ensures adequate security of the projects to avoid vandalism and theft.
