… Re Names Abe As SSG
Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has re-appointed Hon Magnus Ngei Abe as the Secretary to the State Government.
The re-appointment of Hon Abe followed his earlier resignation from the position of Secretary to the state Government to enable him contest for the South-East Senatorial Seat.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, disclosed this while briefing Government House Correspondents on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting in Port Harcourt, last Friday.
The Commissioner said Hon Abe was re-appointed as a measure to fast-track government programme needing his experience and commitment.
Mrs Semenitari also said the state executive council agreed to commence the contributory Pensions Scheme in the state to allow civil servants have safety nets that would guarantee a better future for the workforce.
Council, she said, equally approved the contract and the release of funds for the equipping of Prof Kelsey Harrison Hospital and the Maxillo-Facial Dental Clinic all in Port Harcourt.
The Information and Communications Commissioner equally disclosed that council agreed to set up the board for the Social Services Contributory Levy Scheme, adding that some nominations have been taken and the names would be forwarded to the State House of Assembly for screening and approval.
