Princewill Backs Amaechi 2nd Term Bid
One week after Governor Chibuike Amaechi formerly received former Action Congress (AC) governorship candidate in Rivers State Tonye Princewill into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Princewill says he has dropped his governorship ambition to support Governor Amaechi for re-election in the 2011 general election.
Princewill who with drew his ambition in a statement said he has no justification to contest against a governor who has delivered the dividends of democracy to his people.
The press statement which was signed by his media assistant, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze said Princewill was with drawing from the race because the present administration headed by Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has lifted the hope of Rivers people.
He noted that the state offers free education, scholarship in the university and abroad, adding that construction of 350 modern primary schools is at various stages of completion in all the local government areas of the state.
He said the government is also constructing modern secondary schools and providing Information Communication Technology (ICT) facilities in schools, adding that the government had offered free health in all government owned hospitals.
It would be recalled that a Federal High Court in Abuja last week ruled that Amaechi’s tenure ends on May 28, 2011 indicating that Governor Amaechi is expected to freely participate in the 2011 general elections.
