Lawmaker Canvasses Support For Jonathan
A member, representing Asari-Toru constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Ibinabo Michael West, has enjoined groups in the state and the nation at large to support good governance and president Goodluck-led administration.
Hon Michael West gave the charge when a Non-Governmental Organization called Goodluck, Good Governance (GGG) paid him a courtesy visit last Friday, in Port Harcourt. He maintained that for the nation to experience a credible election come 2011, everyone must live up to his or her responsibility, rather than mortgaging their conscience with mony.
The Lawmaker advised the group to always identify with good to governance. He enjoined public office holders to always work up to expectation and as well as encourage those who are doing well to do more in the interest of the nation.
Hon Michael West pledged his support to the group in their quest for good governance and advised them to always call on him whenever they need his assistance. Earlier in his address, the National Coordinator of the group, Mr Ibinabo Young Mathew said that they were in his office to solicit his support and that of his colleagues in the promotion of good governance.
He explained that the group is aimed at promoting good governance in the country and to advocate support for president Goodluck to enable him perfect most of the good works he has started.
On 2011 elections, the co-ordinator stated that the group will work with well meaning Nigerians to ensure that only people who have done well in their political offices are re-elected and new aspirants with credible profiles are given a chance.
The coordinator also applauded the determination of the federal government to ensuring that the peoples’ vote count in the forthcoming general election. He further appealed to the honourable member, to support the group to achieve their aims and objectives.
In a related development, the group also paid courtesy visit to Hon. Nnamdi Ihute, representing Oyigbo Constituency who in his speech also assured the group of his support and enjoined them to always call on him whenever they need his assistance.
