HOS Counsels Women Civil Servants
The Rivers State Head of Service (HOS), Mrs Esther Anucha has called on women in the Civil Service to exhibit high moral values in the performance of their duties.
Mrs Anucha made the call recently when Executive members of the Women Committee of the State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) paid her a courtesy visit in her office in Port Harcourt.
The Head of Service, who reminded them of their societal role as mothers, urged them to bring their experiences to bear in the discharge of their functions by rendering a humble, sincere and dedicated service to God and humanity.
She congratulated them on their election victory and enjoined them to take their leadership role seriously as well as portray the women folk in good light, promising to support them in their plan to organise a seminar in commemoration of the International Women’s Day. Earlier, the Chairperson of the Women Committee of the State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress Comrade Edna Onwuasoanya said, the aim of the visit was to acquaint her of the change in leadership and formally congratulate her on her well deserved appointment as the first female Head of Service in the State.
The Chairperson, who said that the Woman Committee was formed to mobilised and sensitise men to participate actively in Union activities and proffer ideas bordering on their wellbeing, used the occasion to solicit support to enable them organise a Seminar for women in the Civil Service.
